My favorites for newborns and children

Away from decor… I’m talking to you today as a mom… like any mom, I want the best for my kids… and just recently, a new brother arrived for my daughter Foz… so I recalled everything I loved using for Foz when she was a baby and an infant, so I can use it again for Ahmed…

The most important thing for me is the car seat… The great thing about it is that it’s one seat suitable from infancy up to four years old… Foz still uses her seat, and I bought another one for Ahmed… It’s comfortable because, firstly, it’s very securely installed, and the seat rotates 360 degrees, so it’s super easy for me to put the child in while facing the door.

When my living room is on a different floor from the bedrooms, it’s important for me to have a lightweight and comfortable crib for the babies so they can always be near me during the day. It’s also light and easy to move in case I don’t want it around when guests come over, so it doesn’t affect the living room’s arrangement. This crib is really great—my kids feel comfortable in it, and Foz kept using it until she was about two years old, just sitting on it. It has a removable, washable cover, and we all know how important that is.

And something I’ve talked about a lot on Snapchat is Foz’s bag, where we put her clothes and spare outfits when she goes out. Of course, Foz has grown up now and doesn’t need a bag this size anymore… The Zara Home bag… amazing… lightweight, spacious, and washable… You can also get smaller bags made of the same fabric to organize its contents—like putting diapers and related stuff in one bag, spare clothes in another, and so on… If we’re out and I need to change Foz, I don’t take the whole big bag to the bathroom, just the small bag I need at that moment.

As for the stroller, when I was looking for one for Foz, I had specific features I was searching for… Of course, I was really drawn to buying the latest model with a million features and stories, but it was very important to me that it be lightweight and that I could carry it. Because I don’t always go out with the driver, and I might be holding the baby and need to open it, it was essential that it be easy to open with one hand. I have this one for use with infants here in Kuwait. The nice thing about it is that it comes with a seat suitable for infants, which also doubles as a car seat, and when the child grows, the seat shape changes… so it lasts with you for 4 years.

And if I’m traveling, I take this one with me because I can bring it onto the plane… The hardest thing is a baby or child at the airport without a stroller… It folds up and can be carried like a bag.

When the child starts eating, all the food needs to be mashed… This device is amazing… because it steams the vegetables and mashes them in the same device… It’s super easy and doesn’t take much time… I don’t like giving kids canned food, so I make everything fresh at home…
